WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
The No. 18 Sonoma State women's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with its 19th consecutive victory and eighth straight sweep, defeating visiting Chico State (25-14, 25-16, 25-15) at the Wolves' Den on Nov. 14. The CCAA champion Seawolves (23-3, 19-1 CCAA) completed an undefeated season at home, going 11-0 on the Wolves' Den hardwood in 2015.
The Sonoma State women's volleyball team (22-4, 18-1 CCAA) defeated visiting Stanislaus State in three sets on Nov. 13 (25-16, 25-20, 25-11) to capture the CCAA title outright thanks to their 18th straight victory and their seventh straight win by way of a three-set sweep. For the second straight season, the Seawolves are the champions of the CCAA.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Sonoma State women's soccer team fell to Azuza Pacific 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament on Nov. 14 in Azusa, Calif. The Seawolves see their historic season end with a 14-3-3 record. The Seawolves will say goodbye to an outstanding senior class that has seen the team go 57-16-9 and reach the NCAA Tournament three times in four years.
The No. 3 seed Sonoma State women's soccer team won the opening round game of the 2015 NCAA Division II West Regional against No. 6 seed Point Loma at the Cougar Soccer Complex on Nov. 12 in Azusa. The Seawolves (14-2-3) earned their first NCAA tournament victory since 1998.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Sonoma State women's basketball team rebounded from its season-opening loss to defeat Notre Dame de Namur 65-53 on Nov. 14 at the Coslet Classic in Chico. The Seawolves will enter Tuesday's home opener against William Jessup with a 1-1 record. Tanner Adams lead the team with 16 points, 12 of which came from three point range.
The Sonoma State women's basketball team saw their 2015-16 season start on a sour note as Holy Names came from behind to snatch a 52-50 win in the opener of the Coslet Classic in Chico on Nov. 13.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
After surrendering a go-ahead jumper by Academy of Art with six seconds left to play in regulation, James Davis' buzzer-beating attempt from 3-point range went for naught as the Sonoma State men's basketball team suffered a 57-55 loss on Nov. 14 at the CCAA/PacWest Challenge, hosted by Dominican in San Rafael.
James Davis went for a game-high 23 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including five 3-pointers as the Sonoma State men's basketball team got its 2015-16 season off on a winning note, defeating host Dominican on Nov. 13 68-63 at the Conlan Center in San Rafael.
